The beautiful island of Evia is home to our family run villas. Alilea is set 200 meters from the sea and is nestled by Politika, a pretty village with a 3km pebble beach.
Politika has been our family's summer destination for as long as I can remember. My sister and I grew up spending our summers on Politika beach. Days were spent swimming in the sea and nights staring at the stars.
In 2004 our father designed and built Alilea. He combined modern comforts and traditional Greek architecture, with respect to nature. He built the houses in a staggered layout for privacy. He sourced stone locally, chestnut wood from Mount Athos (Agion Oros), reclaimed white marble from Pendeli (the marble used for the Acropolis in Athens). He nurtured the surrounding olive grove and designed a spacious garden for all to enjoy. Then, the whole family pinched in and made Alilea what it is today; A place where people can unwind, relax and enjoy quality time with family and friends.
The olive grove at Alilea is harvested in early November annually. We pride ourselves on the quality of our organic extra virgin olive oil. Harvesting is done by hand over 4-5 days. We welcome guests who want to take part or simply witness the production of our olive oil.
We hope that the relaxing surroundings, combined with our Greek hospitality, will give your family and friends the perfect environment to relax and enjoy ‘a home away from home’ and truly experience the "Alilea" way of life.
